eye problems

anyone have problems with the eyes from this disease?  what are you taking?  has anyone taken restasis?  I either get intense lacrimation and cannot see, or now my orbital is attacked and I cannot focus in one eye.   any success with anything?

I also take restasis, artificial tears, and an opthalmic steroid for inflammation and eyelid swelling.  What I found was important to do is time consuming, but it has helped - a warm heat mask for eyes (Walgreen's has one type) followed by gentle massage with baby shampoo and rinsing lids or using an approved ocular wipe after 15 min. or so of heat mask.  R eye significantly better; still working on L eye.  I have had the swelling/irritation problem for over a year, so not going away quickly.  Should ask your own Dr., of course, since I know nothing about igG4, etc.

My son is on plaquinil for mctd and it can do something to his eyes at high doses so he has reg exams

Hi! My name is Iris and I have an autoimmune disease called "igG4" . I have experienced a lof of dryness in my mouth, eyes' skin etc I am taking Imuron for the igG4 and restasis for my eyes. I use all the Biotene products for my mouth. My rheumatologist sends my blood and other tests to the Mayo Clinic.  These things help a little bit. You might talk to your physician about the Restasis.  Do they know what is causing the dry eye syndrome ??  I wish you good luck in finding some comfort.

I have an undiagnosed autoimmune disease that is affecting my eyes.  The condition is called Iritus.  It is the inflammation of the lining of the eyes.  I understand the difficulty you are having although my condition is different.  What I have found is that eliminating inflammatory foods has helped me tremendously.  I have also added specific nutrition that has helped as well.
