CCP Antibody IGG Positive Range

I recently received my CCP antibody igg test results and I’m confused about the normal/positive ranges for this test. My results are 6.9 u/ml and the positive range is 3.0 u/ml and above. Based on the test results I understand that I’m technically positive but everything I have seen is that positives are 20 and above. Am I missing something? I understand there are probably different tests out there but so far I haven’t been able to find anything and this is all new to me. I’m waiting to meet with my doctor to discuss the results but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask here while I’m waiting.

Yep, almost always the u/ml should be positive at >20. Your test must be using something different, perhaps it's new-ish.

Here's an example which is not yours, but it is different than usual and positive cutoff is 5RU/ml. At least it shows there are other approaches: https://www.euroimmun.com/documents/Indications/Autoimmunity/Rheumatology/CCP/EA_1505_D_UK_A.pdf

...with the R in RU meaning 'Relative".

Or sometimes they just translate the old numbering system to a different scale, so that it's easier for the docs to assess at a glance.

Hi, thanks so much for the reply and I’m sorry for replying so late. It looks like I can’t post a picture from my iPhone or iPad, but I ended up being diagnosed with RA several weeks ago so I guess my test results don’t matter as much to me now :)
