The signs/lsymptoms of sweet syndrome are similar to those of a person with one or more chronic infections (fever, skin rashes, fatigue, painful joints, sore eyes, mouth ulcers, etc.). Treatments often include corticosteroids to suppress immune responses and other palliative treatments that suppress symptoms but don’t do much to treat underlying causes.
If you have identifiable infections that underlie the condition, and these can be successfully treated, this would likely be the best long-term approach rather than just treating symptoms.
Hi, I belong to the MS Support group, I was sent your post through our forum. I had never heard of Sweet Syndrome. So I did a google search and pulled up the Mayo Clinic site at
www. mayoclinic.com/health/sweetsyndrome
If you haven't already checked out this site, they offer a lot of information about this. It might be helpful for you to see if you can use any of this information.
I am so sorry for what you are dealing with. I will put you on my prayer list, once there you never get removed.
I use to live out side of Pittsburgh many years ago. I still miss it. I am praying that you will regain your strength and start to feel like your old self again very soon. I know it would help if you could start to eat regular 3 meals a day again and the sooner the better. Please make sure you keep all of your Doctor appointments and if you notice any thing changing call the Doctor right away so you can get it checked checked out.
Regardless of what illness we are facing we have to take control of our health care. We are in charge of any and all treatments, check out the medications both pro and con, You will be the one to decide what course you will take. Our Doctors are making suggestions based on their knowledge and/or info from the drug companies.. So it is up to US to educate ourselves as much as possible..
