I would get the book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC".  There are different natural herbs and diet recommendation which can be helpful in treating this condition.  See nothing wrong with going to a holistic doctor and if you want to go to some other doctor that is your choice.  I do not think waiting around 6 months is very wise.  The sooner you address this problem the better chance you have of getting better.  The holistic doctor will most likely recommend many of the things you find in the book I recommended.  The book will cost alot less and I got mine at GNC but think you can get it on line.  It is advertised as Americas #1 Guide to Natural Health.  You should learn as much as you can about the disease so you can make a wise decision.  Good Luck.

I agree ith Jody. Your doctor should have referred you immediately! try getting a second opinion from a liver specialist or gastro center.

Hi,
I don't know anything about holistic treatment but I can tell you that if you do have AIH your doctor should send you to a hepatologist or gastro doctor. That way you can go on treatment for this & if necessary have a biopsy done to see what kind of damage if any to your liver.  I don't understand why you weren't referred immediately to a specialist if your doctor thinks this to be true.  Jody
