Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

My wife was diagnosed today with MCTD. The little reading I have done tells me there are only different varieties of anti inflammatory drugs available to treat. Does anyone know of other therapies for this autoimmune disease that are less invasive?

Hi Dave I have Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (UCTD) I was told for six years it was SLE LUPUS but now they say it UCTD i have had so many tests with postive results i am overlapping a fair few auto imuine diseases,  i don't know much about it but i have been having heaps of problems over the yrs, your wife needs to see a rheumatologist, hopefully the waiting list isn't to long we have a year waiting list here.

All treatments for MCTD are tough, but the condition is managable.

antiinflammatory drugs and immunosuppressants are both widely used.  You need to get her into a rheumatologist.

I have had it for years, and am stable to where I take Methotrexate every 3 months
