Burning Sensation Throughout Body?

I have an internal burning pain/burning sensation throughout my body and I am desperate for help. The pain is from head to toe. Sometimes I even end up with bad headaches. I have been suffering for a years now and it's just getting much worse. I had a total hysterectomy last year and my hormones are within range. The pain existed long before the surgery. I have a long term injury in one ankle/lower leg and it has never fully healed, remains swollen. Foot/ankle doctors just have me wearing compression stockings and orthotics. I walk fine. I am obese.  Blood pressure meds 10mg Lisinopril that keep blood pressure within normal range.

I have had Hormone test, TSH, T4, Testosterone, Comp Metabolic Panels, CBC, ANA test and all are within range. PCP just put me on presciption vitamins and he thinks I may have nerve irritation that is causing me all this burning pain. I had MRI years ago through ER, nothing found.

I feel so much burning pain and don't know what to do.

What is next step toward getting help, other test or a referral?  I have only worked with my GYN and PCP doctors at this point.

I have burning sensation from head to toe every nt.for the last two years. I am sleep deprived. Worse after walking or any form of exercise. my life is at a stand still. Tried many meds. Fron neurtonin, cipralex, seroquel for sleeping now cymbalta. Had MRI, seen a neurologist. No one knows what is causing this burning pain. I'm tired and fed up. Can anyone help!

I have the same burning sensations. Four Drs. working on it, none have an answer short of meds. I don't want to take meds to mask symptoms. want to find the cause then the treatment.

Went to PCP today, he ordered an MRI and some more lab test including sed rate, B12.   He gave Lyrika to take at night, but looks like some serious warnings with it.  I already have some edema in my lower legs and I take a Ace inhibitor which doesn't look to good with that med.  So I need pain relief, major and not sure about that med.  Made an appointment with neurolgist there today and it will be in 3 weeks.

Well, the burning pain sure does sound like peripheral neuropathy.

A neurologist would be best to diagnose this.  Then, if it turns out you have it, there's a whole host of tests they can run to try to find a cause.  Hopefully the neurologist would know to do this, but the MedHelp page here gives you a good list of some of the possible causes to pursue if you have PN.  Notice that small fiber neuropathy isn't picked up well by EMG, so if your EMG comes back okay, you may still want to get a skin biopsy.

Have you had your c-reactive protein and sed rate checked to look for inflammation in your body?
