wide spread acute pain and weakness

My wife has suddenly developed severe pains and weaknesses that change from one place to another day to day. It started as a very stiff neck that has continued. Pains now include the base of the skull, lower back, left hip, right knee, shoulder, etc. She gets severe muscle spasms usually in the lower back while sleeping. She has been tested for lyme decease (Negative). She has long had deterioration of the C5 and C6 cervical discs. Her pain has steadily diminished her ability  to walk, and she now can take only a few steps with the aid of cane or crutches. All this has occurred over about 18 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your input. She is slowly but steadily getting worse and its hard to decide where to go. I would like to get her into a diagnostic team situation in a hospital but these situations are hard to find.

Hey Jim. Welcome to the forum.

Sorry about your wife's suffering.

She probably has to get spinal testing again , X-rays or preferably
a spinal and cervical MRI.

Some other possibilities to be ruled out are low adrenal function, low thyroid,
neurotransmitter imbalance, MS, certain deficiencies like RBC magnesium, B12, D3,
Lyme's testing is notoriously tricky and it might take years to dx, if ever,
however, I don't see it from the symptoms you listed, but if there are more,
you are welcome to post them along with any other pertinent medical information that might help.

All the best to you and your wife.
Niko
