UTI

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome causing autonomic dysfunction which affects my blood pressure, bowels, bladder, eyes etc. My presenting symptom when seeing consultant was orthostatic instability. I have now been informed that the recurrent UTIs I experience are caused by autonomic dysfunction.

I wonder why this is so?

I am curious if you have dizziness or vertigo with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  My mother has the same autonomic symptoms as you but also has constant dizziness?
Thanks!

My guess would be secondary to incomplete emptying of the bladder.  Have you had a post void residual done, either by catheter or ultrasound.  At one point I was retaining almost 200cc of urine after voiding.  That would be my guess with you.
