Miscarriage Poem...beautiful and true~

Found this the other day.  I am using in an article for my cousin's Grief Connections newsletter and to put plugs in for my support group I have started at church. I thought it was a great poem and wanted to share it with all of you wonderful ladies...

Just Those Few Weeks
by Susan Erlin

For those few weeks-
I had you to myself.
And that seems too short of time
To be changed so profoundly.
In those few weeks-
I came to know you... And to love you.
You came to trust me with your life.
Oh, what a life I had planned for you!
Just those few weeks-
When I lost you,
I lost a lifetime of hopes, plans, dreams, and aspirations...
A slice of my future simply vanished overnight.
Just those few weeks-
It wasn't enough time to convince others
How special and important you were.
How odd, a truly unique person has recently died
And no one is mourning the passing.
Just a mere few weeks-
And no "normal" person would cry all night
Over a tiny, unfinished baby,
Or get depressed and withdraw day after endless day.
No one would, so why am I?
You were just those few weeks my little one
You darted in and out of my life too quickly.
But it seems that's all the time you needed
To make my life so much richer-
And give me a small glimpse of eternity

Those poems were all beautiful. Definitely helps when someone is able to put words to all of the emotions that so many of us are feeling.

hi I'm new on this site, but came across it because I was looking to share my poem, I was feeling low one day, and in anticipation of my due date (10.2.10) I wrote a poem it really has helped me and hopefully next Wednesday I can try my best to accept that my angel is gone:

                 Our Baby/Our Star
Our empty arms and broken hearts, are comforted to know
you had an even better place to go.
So special,
You where chosen to lighten up the night
Sleep peacefully and shine brightly little star
destined to be that everlasting light.

These brought tears to my eyes.....we lost our little girl two weeks ago at 22 weeks gestation....she lived for just two hours after a pre-term labor.....we have been looking for headstone poems, and these just captured so many of the feelings we have been having....
It is going to be a while before we ttc again, but we thought these poems were so true of our feelings....thanks for sharing.....

That is beautiful!!  I have a little poem too!  I ordered a Baby Tears Memorial Necklace from labelldame . com and it came with a poem card that read...

Baby Tears

We never heard your first tiny cry,
never wiped the teardrops from your eyes.
And though our hearts grieve, and we are bereft
we carry your teardrops, they are all we have left...
We carry them with us, tucked next to our heart
your memory with us always, we are never apart.

they also had this poem that came with other memorial jewlery...

Forget me not

My little one
You have left us too soon
Though my body can no longer hold you
I hold you forever in my heart
As precious and beautiful as this flower caught in time
A mother's love does not forget

I love both of them!!

I love sharing these little poems!!
