Natural IUI+HCG vs CLOMID+IUI+HCG

Need some advice.. This is my First IUI.

I have been ttc for 2 years, with 1 m/c and 6 cycles of clomid and another 3 cycles of CLOMID+HCG+PROGESTERONE. we moved on to a RE and she suggested that we move on to IUI+HCG and NO CLOMID OR PROGESTERONE.

I m so confused and not really very happy, because the reason we moved to RE was that we need some action and have a BFP asap. But my RE says that she is gonna try 3 cycles of natural IUI , If still no BFP then directly to IVF.
I heard that iui is mostly done in combination with clomid/injectables.
I am thinking of taking clomid along with the IUI this cycle. what do u guys suggest? IUI is really expensive here and i dont want to waste 3 cycles and spend so much money for nothing. I have heard that clomid along with IUI increases my changes of pregnancy. Please advice, what would u guys do in my situation. Take clomid or not?

I figure the more follies the merrier - LOL.  But if you have too many before the IUI, you can always choose NOT to do the IUI and take a lesser dosage next cycle.

I don't know what the typical stats are for how many mature . . .

Don't worry, you'll be able to give yourself the shot when the time comes :)  Heck if we can make it through the HSG, then a tiny little needle ***** is nothing!

I dont know , how to react.. is that normal.. i mean 20 follicles... i hope that only 2-3 make it to cd13... i am excited and also little worried.. i am jst hoping that everything fall in the place before my IUI!!!

I was on the 100mg for my BFP :)  Don't worry about the HCG trigger, it's really easy.  I'm scared of needles too, but I was able to give it to myself just fine.  Of course DH couldn't watch or be anywhere near - LOL.  But it's amazing the strength that you find when you are determined!

Good luck for your baseline!!  Not sure what they'll be looking for, but hope you get good news!

I O'd on my own too, but still did the Clomid.  Honestly I was hoping for more then one follie to increase our chances.  I still say it can't hurt and I'm glad you decided to go for it :D  What dosage are you on?

Thanks for the support Bam.. I was in two minds.. but now i am clear, i am gonna start clomid. i asked her why she wants to try natural iui, she said that, as i ovulate on my own, i dont need clomid.. but i was ovulating on my own, 1 year back, since the \last one year i was ion clomid on and off....

So i am going to start my clomid tomorrow and the baby aspirin too and rooting for the iui...and i am going talk to her, when i meet her for iui.

I would take the Clomid . . . . (in fact Clomid+IUI+HCG+progesterone = BFP for me).  I wonder why your RE wants to try it natural??  Did you ask?  Don't forget you are the one in charge; you are the one paying the money.  I say give it all you got with both barrels before the last resort of IVF!!

Even though I did Clomid - I think 100mg? it might say in my journal - I still only had one follie.  I don't see how the Clomid could possible hurt the process?  For that matter, if you want to do the progesterone, how can that hurt either?  If your progesterone levels are not a problem, then taking the added supplements is not going to hinder your BFP.  Definately ask more questions!!

If she says you are to move on to IVF, what then?  Will she jump straight to injectables?
