missed miscarriage

I had missed miscarriage at 11wks with my fist pregnancy. I only have one ovary after my left ovary was  removed in 2006 due to dermoid cyst. what's my chance of "live birth"?

I had d/c on aug14 and on sept22 had my regular period.Any tips?

Hey dear! I had my left ovary removed in August, and got pregnant in September with twins. Unfortunately I M/C on November 5th. My doctor told me after my ovary removal that the other ovary usually "picks up the slack" for the missing ovary. She said it shouldn't affect my ability to get pregnant (and it didn't!!)

I am currently TTC again, but I have complete faith that I can indeed get pregnant and carry to term. You can too!!

Sending you lots of baby dust!!

Hi everyone. I had a miscarriage and I recently had a D&C. This was my first pregnancy and I'm still trying to recover. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your stories because it provides me with hope to conceive again. I'm still in the grieving stage but you have all definitely inspired some hope for me. Thank you.

A woman with one ovary usually has the same chance of getting pregnant as a woman with two,as long her tube is ok.good luck.

If you look at our belly buddies list you can see all of the success stories we have had in this forum (and that doesn't include the 30+ babies that were born in 2009!!).  There is one girl here who has only one tube and 1/2 a uterus and she is now pg with her 2nd after 2 previous m/c.

One ovary can make pg a little difficult, but certainly not impossible.  There are always lots of fertility meds that you can try, or IUI to also help up your chances.  I am very sorry for your loss :(  Unfortunately the common bond we have here.  I had a m/c at 8 weeks and am now 26 weeks pg.

It IS doable!!!  Stay hopeful and keep trying!!!  Feel free to join our cycle buddies thread for added support.  Welcome to our group.

It's different for everyone, I had a D&C from a missed miscarriage, waited one cycle then started trying, I'm now 39 weeks along and hoping/expecting to go into labor any time now.  You got pregnant to begin with so I'd say your chances are good for having a live birth!

nobody can tell you your "chance" but I will tell you I have a client who had one ovary removed and then after months of trying she got pregnant....with twins!!! And she conceived each one at different times, so she ovulated twice in a month.....on one ovary! Crazy things happen
