I had a D&C, bleed for 12-24 hours, then after about 9-10 days after the D&C I started bleeding what was exactly like my period.  My dr told me it wasn't my period, it even lasted as long as it usually is.  Also, I did ovulate about 2 days after that bleeding stopped.  I also am pretty sure my levels were extremely low when I had the D&C since it was a missed miscarriage and lost many of the pregnancy symptoms.

I would say it's perfectly normal from what you explained, but as far if it was a period or not, I would say probably not, however I'm sure you'll find some dr's that say it was a period as well.

When I had my D&C I bled on and off for about 14 days sometimes heavy sometimes just spotting.  I had my first official period exactly 5 weeks after my D&C.  I would assume you are not having your period yet....just bleeding from your D&C.  Good luck to you.  I remember thinking..."this is never going to stop" but it did and I went back to normal after that.  I must admit my periods are longer now than they were before and heavier.  I have had 3 since my D&C and they seem to last longer and are heavier than ever before so dont panic if your periods are different.  My first one after the D&C which was 5 weeks later was extremely heavy.  Changing a super tampon every 2 hours for the first 3 days.  That never happened to me before.  Just giving you a little heads up for what might happen.

It's one of those things where there is no definite answer unfortunately.  It could be your period but then again might not.  If it's a lot like a period then mark it on the calendar and see if your next bleed comes around the normal time.

Tiffany, I had my d&c on the 13th.  Bleeding stopped after a few days & then came back on & off for a couple of days.  My dr told me that my body was just cleaning itself out.  Its been 3 weeks since my last d&c & I haven't had a period yet.  With my first my cycle came back in 34 days.
