missed miscarriage

I am wondering if anyone can tell me how long it took to naturally miscarry after no heartbeat was detected?I was diagnosed on Nov 10 at my 9 week ultrasound. My doctor did not even see a fetal pole. My hcg levels are still rising and I am not spotting yet.I am however experiencing some mild cramping but that is about it.Also,I have to add that my pregnancy symptoms are still there; Headache, nausea, and fatique. If there is anyone that can tell me what to expect I would really appreciate it.

Oh Deb...I am so sorry.  My m/c at 8 weeks (baby stopped growing at 7weeks) ended up in a d&c because I also had no symptoms of m/c and I let it go another week after I found out and still nothing.  I wish I had answers for you.  Again, I'm so sorry :(

I found out I was pregnant on Nov 10th 2008... Since I didn't have a regular period I was booked for an ultrasound  for dating purposes... I had a bit of brown spotting the week before my ultrasound... I went for my ultrasound on Dec 16th and they could not find anything...there was a small sac in the upper corner but the doctor could not confirm if it was a cyst or a sac.... I was told the day after the ultrasound, that I was not pregnant.. I never  did never expelled anything at all.No bleeding .. nothing...They chose not to do a D&C.. he said it appeared that my body reabsorbed it naturally....  Following that I never had a period till April 2009...
All very Surreal.....

So ......hhhhmmmmmm my heart is bleeding......
I had a missed m/c end of August @ 8 1/2 weeks
we had a heart beat 2 weeks before @ 6 1/2 weeks .
I had no bleeding , no cramping ( just very little light cramping), all signs of pregnancy and NO signs of miscarriage !!
:HCG was 109 000
:4 days later still no heartbeat and no growth
:I waited about a week to c if I would abort naturally , but my ob wanted to do a d&c with sucction because he questioned a partial molar pregnancy . The placenta was still producing HCG !!!
:So I had my d&c .......
:he send the Baby with Placenta to 2 diffrent labs ( 1 gentetic lab , 1 pathology )
results came back 2 weeks later
it was a baby boy , he was "healthy" ( no chromosome issues ), negative for partial molar
:so we do not really know why little ones heart stopped :(
: I went every week after d&c to get my HCG checked
:HCG took 8 weeks to go down to 2
I had a LOT , a LOT of complications after d&c   wich I dont even wanna go there !!!

I am sssooo sorry Deb.

If you have any questions please ask .....I hope I can help in any way

Love with all my Heart

Sorry to hear about your loss!  I had two blighted ovum miscarriages this summer.  Both of them were at about 5 or 6 weeks and happened naturally without D&C.  The first time I was told about the blighted ovum at 5 weeks and I miscarred a week later.  It started with brown spotting, then bleeding within a day or two and it lasted for about a week.  With that one I actually felt something to come out and then the bleeding stopped a day later.  With the second miscarriage I felt nothing and I bled for a few days and I never felt anything coming out other than blood clots and when the doctor checked the ultrasound everything was out.  Just wait for a natural miscarriage unless your cramping is extremely painful or you start bleeding too much (more than a pad within an hour).  If that happens go to the doctor to make sure you are not having an infection.  As far as hcg your doctor is supposed to keep checking levels even after your miscarriage is complete until it completely drops to pre-pregnancy level which can take a few weeks.  It is sad that this is happening to us, but I believe our pregnancies will be eventually successful and we'll have healthy babies!  Best of luck to you!

I'm sorry that you are in this situation.  I can only give you my experience from my last m/c.
I went for a couple betas, which weren't rising normally, doubling only every week or so.  I had an u/s to rule out ectopic, and at 8 weeks there was a small sac measuring 4 weeks.  I had some brown spotting for a day and then nothing.  After that u/s I never had another beta drawn so I don't know how high my levels got or if and when they began dropping on their own.  I was told to come back in 3 weeks for another u/s, where I still had a sac, but it had not grown and nothing was in it.  At 12 weeks I still had no spotting or cramping whatsoever, so I was finally given misoprostol to start the m/c.  It was miserable, and I would absolutely choose to wait it out longer if ever in that position in the future.

Are you having another u/s, or just another beta drawn?  I am thinking of you.
