Shoulder Pain

I have a pain in my shoulder that may radiate down to my elbow occassionally  It occurs mainly when seated.  Orthopedic DR. saw only a slight disk space shrinkage on C5.  The pain is only on the right side.  I am active in sports and need a better therapy.  Chiropractic was no help.  the pain is a 2 out of 10.  It is more of an annoyance.  Would a neck traction be warranted.

Dear John,

the pain you describe may come from several potential body areas: the shoulder joint, elbow joint, pinched nerve at the elbow, pinched nerve in the neck etc.
I would suggest that you get a second opinion from a neuro or spine specialist and have an MRI of the cervical spine and should joint and an EMG/NCS.
Physical therapy would be better than chiropractic treatment in my opinion for a mild neck or shoulder joint problem.
