Every morning that I have slept more than 6 hrs I wake up with an imense amount of pain in my lower back and can hardly get out of bed. What could I do to maybe help prevent that?

Make sure you do not sleep on your stomach.  Best to sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees (will help keep your spine aligned).  This worked wonders for me.

Sleep with a pillow between your leg. It helps relieve the pressure on low back. You may also want to check into a good mattress topper. I love mine. Have you had your back checked to see what is causing all the pain? Best wishes.
