Lyrica

Anyone take this med? I called it on Saturday and forgot to pick it up due to child illness. I have been on it for a month or two. I just plain forgot. Kids come first. So, i had been off of it for 2 days, maybe, and I went upstairs to check on my daughter and I felt like a taser-gun like shock in my back and my legs hurt and then went to sleep(numb). I sat down and it went away. I done that all day yesterday but I could sit down before they went numb. Is this because of the Lyrica or id I just reinjure myself?

Hello, I too have been on lyrica for 4 yrs now, I have suffered with edema pretty much the hole time, my main PCP asked me to try and dose down some, I was 150 mgs 3 times daily. I tried and by the way I had a multi level fusion 2-2013, L-1 L-2 L-3 TO L-4 OMG talk about pain, anyway I tried my feet looked bad. The 2nd day into dosing down, I got the electric shocks, that will heat you at any time laying down, sitting ESpecially, standing more than 10 min, start the spasms on left side from lower thorasic, then Like Seege1 says The sciatic picks up from there, Could you have caused more problems by a fall YES! anytime no matter how far it is a herniation could burst or even you become more out of alignment. I dont want to scare you But Lyrica is like alot of other meds it does not have to be a narcotic to give you sight affects, or even your body withdrawing from not having that pregabalin in its system to fights off these nasty attacks. Good luck sweetie!

i've been on Lyrica for about 4 years for fibromyalgia - it has been a miracle  drug for me.  i have missed doses at times, but have never had anything like you described.  sounds like maybe sciatica to me.  the sciatic nerve runs down your leg.

Hi, I am a fellow lyrica and I have been on it since 2007... It has helped so many people for nerve pain however please do not miss a dose and I sincerely mean this,,
I take it for peripheral neuropathy..sharp pains everywhere and I am not diabetic nor do I have fibromyalgia..I was up to 300mg a day and when I would miss even a day, would have increased pain..I was also on Vicodin and amitriptylline and lyrica, I now realize, was making me have withdrawal symptoms..increased pain, sweating,..I thought it was because I was only taking my vicodin as needed and that missing that was doing this..
I got stuck in a remote location and ran out..stupid! I went thru hell for 4 days...no increase in pain meds or a little more amitriptylline would help..
I beg everyone on it to not even miss a day..have your doctor give you some extra, go to pharmacy..keep some to prevent this from happening...I have a horror story but it was my darn fault..
It is promoted for so many things and does help but I am down to  taking 50mg a day from 300 a day and I went down very slowly..over 6 months..
I also was able to get radiofrequency nerve ablation for the affected nerves in my back as I was having to take more meds to decrease the pain and tapered many months as well...but missing the lyrica was the worst..my blessings and hope for better pain relief soon..

I think that I heard from someone else on this site that she stopped the LYrica because of strange shock like feelings and tremors but they continued even after she stopped the meds. It had been weeks for her.  If you have a pinched nerve you usually feel it and have symptoms whether you stand ,sit, lie down etc.  That is how it was for me and my son and my husband anyway.  My doctor wanted me to try Lyrica for Fibromyalgia but I refused because of what I had read about it. I hope it gets better for you.

I DO have a disc problem. I was diagnosed with DDD and Facet Syndrome in June of last year after having my second child. My back was hurting so badly in the last few months, but you know I thought well, everyones back hurts. Don't be a wuss. In August, I fell at work. I do medical records and I was in the rolling charts and had my weight leaned up against one side. My partner, unknowingly, rolled the shelf that I was leaning on. I fell back on my bottom. This made things a lot worse. After an MRI, I was told I had two bulging discs one of which is torn. I think the tear is old. I herniated a disc in 1998 and I think that is what they were seeing because I still have issues with it. The gel-like stuff in the middle will squish out and touch the nerves. When that happens, my back goes into a complete spasm. However, the MRI also revealed that even though they were bulging, they weren't touching a nerve. So, all that being said, I still have tingly, numbing pain that goes down my right leg. However, this incident was way different. It felt like I had been shot in the back with a taser gun and both of my legs starting aching like right before one of your limbs go to sleep, you know when you are in so much pain you can't move. So, I didn't. I waited and they went to sleep or completely numb. I sat down and it slowly lifted. It done it for the rest of the day, but I would sit down when I felt it in my back. It helped.
