Bulging disk L4/L5

Hi, I have a bulging disk at L4/L5, I have been going through physical therapy and have noticed a decrease in the pain. I want to start working out again and diong cardio and am looking for a routine that won't hurt my back too much. Also what are some good exercises to do in the pool?

Hang on. If it's a bulding disc its probably putting pressure on ur nerve. My mom has it rite now so i know a lot about it. Do you have calf pain? First all more pain comes from depression and worrying. You need to really relax ur muscles and relax ur self is the first step. Too many medications are really bad for u and i dont recommended surgery. Just make it worse. If you lose bladder control then u need to seek medical attention immediatly. Dont strain ur muscles/back. Dont lift anything heavy and if the pain forces you to rest keep it limited. Are there any positions that make u confortabel. That make ur pain clam? For my mom it was lieing down, pulling/bending one knee towards her chest for a little while and after about a minute the pain decreases a lot  plus thats a good excerise for your back. Try that.

I have the same diagnosis. Two years ago, my problem was recurring every few weeks, and I was in a lot of pain. My doctor recommended a surgeon, but luckily, I started practicing a style of yoga that is very much therapeutic. Be warned that not all yoga is beneficial to this diagnosis. However, if you find a good instructor (such as one that specializes in Anusara Yoga, or Yoga Therapy) I trust the pain may subside substantially. I am lucky enough to not have had any pain for seven months, and I practice yoga three times a week and o a lot of core strengthening. This combo was the answer for my particular situation!!

I have a bulging disk at l4/l5, 10" synovial cyst on L-5 S-1. Have the following sysmptos:
1) Lower back.  Bending from the waist, twist or move side to side the lower back hurts.  Painful in the mornings or after lying down.  Lower back locks up in pain. Feels like metal rubbing together. Ankles become weak, butt pain hurts.  Area hurt s when doctor touches it.
2)Area of right and left S-1 joints.  Joint areas become very painful.  Burning, hurting, Joints feel like there is not fluid, picking feel like when your legs fall asleep, but triple the intensity.  Rear pain. Pain starts at S-1 joint area down legs. More predominate on left, but is on right also.  At times nerve jumps inside the left leg in the back, also get Charlie horse in the left leg at the bottom.  Ackles on both sides become week and hurt.

I am going to a chiropractor and taking inflamation medicines, but the pain and picking is still there.  What can I do to get rid of this.

Walking!!!,nothing else.
Pills, surgery, manipulation and other remedies can make the pain worse," the best things you can do when you know what is causing back pain are to give up smoking, lose weight and walk, or participate in some kind of aerobic exercise, such as walking on a treadmill or swimming — not twisting, yoga or Pilates, which can injure the back.
