Failed c5-c7 surgery

Two years ago I had a c5-c7 fusion.  Now I am experiencing the same neck and arm symptoms as before and my surgeon was shocked to find that the fusion didn't take. I have choice, she can go through the back of my neck and refuse them and hope we have better luck this time, or go throught the front of my neck and add a third level c4-c7 to the fusion.  I would prefer the much more simple and less traumatic surgery of choice #1.

Has anyone had good results from a refusion? Sincerely, Harmony

I had no problem fusing with my ACDF, I had a solid fusion at 3 months. But it was only a single level. Supposedly  the more levels, the greater a chance of a non-union.

When you say refusion, are they going to replace the bone grafts?

My cervical fusion was successful. I am sorry to hear your having these problems. Did your Dr have you try a bone growth stimulator to help the fusion take??? Theres one that I read about heres a link... Maybe ask your Dr about it. Hope everything goes OK>
