Freaking out!!!!

So I had my MRI on Wed and got a copy of the films on CD... I was going through the films, looking at it and saw some thing's that looked a little weird..... My discs, look like they are ok, but in 2 places, you can see the disc, but there i a bulge in 2 places right next to eachother.... And there is also a big black spot on a certain part of my back.... I mean it almost kind of look's like a ball.. What could this be ? And what could these bulges mean ?

Any feedback would be great.

and to rubyj.............the place that took the MRI is not going to tell you the findings...thats not their job..nor is it their place. they just read the MRI images, and dictate it on a report...they are not allowed to discuss what was found. thats the drs job to discuss it. if you call that place that gave the MRI...and ask for a copy of your MRI report...they should give it to you. or you can call the dr that the report was sent to...and ask for a copy of it. either way...you are legally entitled to a copy of that report.

if im thinking of what you are talking about........that area is normal for everyone..its called the thecal sac....on mine...i think of it as a tomato looking object. but that area is in the lower part of the back.....of which you didnt specify which location you are talking about...upper, middle, lower back. until you get a copy of your MRI report and tell us the findings....we cannot help you determine what you are looking at...we can only guess and make speculations. but do a search on the thecal sac and see if thats what you are thinking is a "mass"...

my dr didnt tell me about my spine having many verterbre out of alignment, or shifted.  or about the bulges.  get a chiropractors opinion on the reading, if the dr doesnt satisfy you.  also, like the others have said, see if the place that did the test will tell you.  they wouldnt tell me, as they said they jjust take them, and are not supposed to read them.  it is frustrating, but i guess chiro's read things differently then drs,  it is stupid, and i am way beyond frustrated with my situation.  good luck~  ruby

regardless of the appt or not....id get a copy of the report if i were you. dr's do not tell you everything that is on your report..only things that "stand out". for example....i have 2 bulging discs, mild arthritis and a ruptured disc. i was ONLY told about the ruptured disc...i would have never known about the other 2 discs or the arthritis if I hadnt received a copy of the report myself.

in another one of your postings, i think i recall you describing it as a ball.....if its what i think it is, its just a normal part of your anatomy. but because we cant see your MRI, we dont know exactly what you are talking about. if you were to call the place where you had your MRI done today.....Im certain you would be able to get a copy of it today....tomorrow at the very latest.

I have and appt on Wed. But I was just curious if anyone had seen anything like this before. I have seen an MRI before and are familiar with them, but just wondering if anyone had seen the same thing or heard of it....... *sighs*

instead of trying to read the MRI yourself...why dont you call the office that done your MRI and ask to get a copy of the actual report?? that would help you more than anything or anyone...then if you still have questions about the report....you could post the findings on here and we can further try to help you.

I am not  sure if I have disc bulges or not.. I mean, the disc's themselves look like they're in place.. But right next to them are 2 bulges...... And there is this black mass on my back somewhere.. What could that be ?

I have 2 disc bulges, one in my neck, the other in my low back from a car accident.  before you do surgery, try a good chiropractor. t hat is what i am doing.  i am in ALOT of pain at the moment, as my neck has flared up.  but his treatment plan is working, and he thinks they may heal in time.  worth a shot......... good luck, let me know if you have any good pain relief ideas.....................
