How severe of pain should i have post-op L4-L5 spinal fusion

I am 27 yrs old on nov 12, 09 i have my second surgery this one being an anterior spinal fusion @ L4-L5. prior to surgery i had moderate to severe pain in my right & left sides, also had muscle weakness primarily the right side.. since my surgery my pain is severe constantly.. im not able to sit, walk, stand for any significant amounts of time at all.. i have sharp pains that best described as taking my breath away and very intense.. i have had xrays 2x's and both times told they look GREAT and i must have severe inflammation.. is anyone else having similar symptoms? does anyone have any techniques that might help relieve the pain.. thank you so much.. my email is also hotwheels_25***@**** once again thank you.. jennifer j.

From personal experience get a CT to show what is really going on. My x-rays showed everything was great, doc said everything was great. But it wasn't and the pain was really worse after the surgery and now for months. I have been on all sorts of pain meds. I I have new doctor and he found I have a screw into the muscle, near a vein.

This can take up to a year for complete fusion to feel better. Don't get discouraged! When the doctors say it's OK do P.T. and look into a cold laser, they are great for inflammation, mayofacial release is good also. 6 weeks post op is way to early for discouragement, keep good thoughts in your head, it really helps. Been there!!!!
