Multilevel degenerative disc disease

I have googled this a few times and I (hope) I am interpreting it incorrectly. It sounds like my spine is basically crumbling.  This can't be right. Can it?

Thank you,
Michelle

Hi Kalvin- Yes, dramatic and not intended to be taken literally : ) My sense of humor does not translate well via computer screen. After reading about it, it sounds as if one disc after another 'degenerates', hence my reference to crumbling. I apologize for being flippant regarding a serious subject.

I'm almost 44, and am waiting to find out how advanced the degeneration is.

Peace~

I don't know how old you are, but "Multi-level  degenerative disc disease" can be caused by injury or by normal wear and tear in the spine. The severity can vary tremendously.

Saying that your spine is basically crumbling is a little dramatic and not really accurate.
