Norco vs Percocets

I have had low back pain for more than 5 years.  I have recently been taking norco 10/325's for almost 9 months.  I have a terrible itching reaction to the meds. I have to take benadryl to control the itch. This method doesn't always work. My PM Dr. is now going to put me on percocet. I have never taken them and am concerned about the reaction and if they will work as well as the norco. Any advice?

Opiated long turm will run u down and take control of the mind more less lose your confidence in everyway imagine and yes the unforia once felt will never return.

If you r working stick to Vicodin/Norco,the itching is only a small price appose to falling asleep or lose of concentration at work from Percocet.
Ask Dr. For a pill to stop itching so much,it will pass.
Good luck to you and drink lots of water.

The percocets are ALOT stronger than the Norco's. You will get probley percocet 5/325 and then if you build a tolerance to that, percocet 10/325.  I was taking 12 10/325 percocets a day untill my tolerance to even that built where they hardly ever worked. My doc. put me on 8mg Dilaudid 4x a day and they have been working good for 8 months now.  Just be honest with the doc. if you build tolerance and become addicted.  The benifits outweigh the negatives. The first time I was prescribed the dilaudid, I only took 1/2 (4mg) of what I was allowed because I didn't know what to exspect. I cried.  It was the first time in months that my pain was almost gone instead of a constant 7-8 and going to the ER with a 9-10 pain. The percocets are really good. It seemed like I got addicted to them faster and more than the dilaudid though. Somedays I had to have a glass of water next to my bed to take the pills and wait to feel better. Than it got where it was only feeding the addiction and not helping the pain at all.  ALot of narcotics can make you itch, it's just side effects where again, you have to weigh the benifits over the side effects.  Good idea about the benadryl, but did you know that it inhances the effect of alot of narcotics?

i have taken both medications and with any hydrocodiene(vicodin, norco) i feel a little itchy.  With oxycodiene(percocet, oxycontin) i do not feel it as much.  You could still have itching but i am going to guess it wont be as bad.
