Pain under my left armpit & back

So for the past month I have had pain in my left breast ( just under my armpit) that continues into my back.  I have seen a doctor and he said that I had a pinched nerve.  I have been taking t-3's for the pain and some advil extra for the inflamation.  I was told to go to massage therapy and have attented many sessions with little results.  I am 33 years old and have never experienced this type of pain before.  Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if they have what did you do to control the pain and discomfort?  The pain is making me ill....no apatite what so ever!  Any suggestins would be welcome!

Thank you!  I did go back to see my Dr. and she did give me a new perscription for Naproxin (sp?).  I have been on it for two days now and I have noticed a difference, not a bunch, but enough that I can eat.  I do appreciate your imput, and I thank you for taking your time to respond to a perfect stranger!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include neuro-muscular causes such as muscle sprain, nerve impingement, injuries to muscles/ ligaments etc inflammations, fractures/ dislocations, referred pain from other regions, micronutrient deficiencies etc. If a pinched nerve has been identified and medications have not been helpful, it might be worthwhile looking at other possible causes or shifting to alternative modes of pain management. I would suggest consulting an internist or a neurologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
