Post Op back pain

I had a C5-C6, C6-C7 left anterior cervical fusion almost 2 years ago, and i have been having severe pain that starts under neath my right shoulder blade about 4 or 5  inches down and even goes down my far right side in my  ribcage area.  I have tried everything from trigger points, physical therapy, costrovertebral injections, to thoracic facets, to suprascapular nerve blocks etc..  Is there anything i am missing here, somebody please help!!

Thanks David Lott

I am only about 7 weeks post cervical fusion, but I have the same type of pain.  I asked my doctor about Lyrica, and he gave me a script.  My pain in the shoulderblade area went from about an 8 to about a 3 or 4.   That was about 3 weeks ago that I started.   I have a worse day here or there, but I would not be here typing if it weren't for the Lyrica.   If you have tried everything else, you may want to give this medication a shot.   I am almost totally off the opiates now because of it.   My dad has been taking this medication for 3 years after very major back surgery and he swears by it, too.

Hi, i just read your post.  Im sorry to hear this, I had the same fusion done 4 years ago as you,and now im having another this wednesday on the 19th.This time posterior cervical fusion. but anyways i have severe pain in those same areas....plus my  head doesnt stay up,feels like it's so heavy...burning shoulders, blades, and left ribcage.I found a new doctor for this surgery....do to complaining about these issues all along ..with nothing done for the last 31/2 years  I was told my last fusion ( didnt fuse ) so therefore,my syptoms all make sense to him.   Im thinking a second opinon might be a the way to go for you.  I  Please let me know, I interested in !!  Take care Tracy
