back/neck/chest/side

ok so i have a pain in my back upper left side, and sometimes pain in my chest on the same side. im 22 years old and have no prior health problems.

whenever i lay on my side i feel like a burning sensation and almost a faint kind of feeling. same when i lay on my stomach , right or left sides.  i also eperience pain in the back and random pains in the chest.. some times left arm pains..

i dont really have an overall sense of well being and this really freaks me out.  i dont know if its because of depression or anxiety or whatever but i never feel like im settled..   i have been told it could be a pinched nerve.. but i dont have health insurance at the moemnt cuz i just got laid off my job and cant afford it. so i realy dont know what to do.. but im so tired of this, constantly checking my heart beat, constantly feeling pain etc..

someone please help me! email me at ***@**** or just post here

Hi.  I am currently going through somewhat similar issues right now also.  I have had soo many tests done and they have found very few things.

You really should at least find a free clinic or you could always go to the ER.  I know dr visits are expensive but what is worth more?

Yes it could be a pinched nerve or many other things too.  Go get it checked out.  That will probably help you feel better just by doing that alone.

Let me know how everything goes.

Good luck and take care!

Well i have had pains everywhere and i mean just about everywhere.  Chest pains, arm pains, neck, jaw, teeth, some headaches, abdominal pains.  They can happen anytime.  But they usually happen when i am relaxing or sitting down.  Sometimes when i am in a weird position such as driving or on the computer is when they come on most.  My docs are suggesting anxiety or spine issues.  I have had lots and lots of ekg's bloodwork, chest xrays, a couple of ct scans, one of heart and one of abdomen and pelvis.  They found a couple of minor things on my ct of abdomen and pelvis.  Had scope down into stomach to look there and found i have gerd.  I have 0 plaque buildup in coronary arteries.

I just had ecocardiogram and corotid artery doppler done on tuesday but wont get those results till tomarrow.

I am thinking it is probably not heart but spine or anxiety or both.

I am still frustrated though.  Does your chest hurt when you press where the pain is at?  I also have costocongitis.  That is also another possiblity for me also.

Also had a mri of spine and they found lots of stuff.  That is probably what MY pain is comming from.

Good luck and i hope you feel better soon.  Mine has been going on for over 4 months now.

Hey man I'm going through a herniated disc issue right now and something Ive been told to try is to unload my spine. Basically get in a chair put your hand on the arms of the chair and lift the takes pressure off of your spine, you should feel you back kinda pop a little try doing this a couple time for about 15 second each time. I don't know if this comes close to your issue but it may relieve pressure that could be causing these issues. It cant hurt to try as you just allowing your spine to depressurize in a sense.

hello again. thanks for all the info ! yes my pains are exactly the same, and it happens when im on computer or sitting down relaxing.. just coems all of a sudden doesnt hurt when i push in my chest.  i can just feel it in my chest which makes me to anxious like a mother.  im only 22 years old!  this just doesnt seem normal.. i dont have health insurance at the moment to have all those tests and what not done.

this has been about 3 months now for me and it really is affecting my every day life... it has kept me inside making me depressed, and the thought of exercise is down right terrifying.  im not over weight at all, im 5'6 140 lbs.  i used to be 165 solid muscle back when i worked out and stuff in highschool. but now im just like a mess.

all i know is im sick and tired of it.  i will try unloading my spine like guy said. but i dont know. it really is annoying

It may be your floating ribs (The ones on the very bottom that a lot of people don't even know are there)  I have had similar symptoms (pain on left side) and a doctor in the family (I also don't have insurance) told me it is was probably Costocongitis.  Your lower ribs and muscles get inflamed.  They don't know the reason why this randomly happens to people.  Everything I know about it is that it's not very serious, just very painful.  Take a strong anti-inflammatory like Motrin and see if it relieves some of the pain.
