back pain

Ive had a burning ,squeezing type pain along my spine for a few months that comes and goes.I did alot of repetitive lifting at my job.Within the last month I have been experiencing different problems with it as well.I moved and had to sleep on a mattress on the floor for awhile and noticed an ulnar nerve problem in my left arm.
In my right arm,the nerves in my wrist seem to jump and pulsate. This only happens when I sleep and wakeup and become aware of it.Also a burning in my shoulder.
The back pain seems to radiate to my sides,to the ribs. Its not really pain in the ribs...more like a cramping.I have poor posture, slouching very badly at the computer desk.I dont know if I have a disc herniation causing these problems...muscles ,ligaments etc...any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to see a very good, competent chiropractor. I have some of the same symptoms you wrote about, and mine really helps me. He will take some x-rays first to determine what is wrong, and if need be, prescribe an MRI. When the vertebrae are out of alignment, you can have all kinds of pinched nerves and pain, and a good chripracto can really help.

Sounds like you might have a nerve impingement in your lower cervical spine, the burning in the shoulder, pain radiating to your side and the arm and wrist problems are all typical symptoms. Is this pain primarily on one side or both?

See your Doctor and see what he/she thinks. A referral to Physical Therapy would
probably help a lot.

The pain is on both sides. The funny thing is,I seem to have more of a problem when I go to bed.It can bother me throughout the day but mostly it wakes me up with neck pain, tingling in the arms, hands.
I think also in my ribs I may have that condition called Cochondritis.I heard it gives you chest pain(which I dont get) but it makes me feel like my ribcage can be inflamed.Especially in the middle back right where the ribs join the spine. Thanks for your help!!

I would definitely try to get an mri of cervical & thoracic spine to see what's going on. My thoracic herniations gives me pain in midback that radiates to chest that makes it hard to breathe, around my ribcage, & to my R shoulder blade/shoulder (or at least thats how it started out but has grown progressively worse over the last year as the herniations spread). Before I knew I had herniations in my thoracic, I too thought that maybe I had costocondritis. Let's cross our fingers that it isn't thoracic troubles since they are so complicated to treat.  Good luck to you!
