broken ribs

My husband fell with a four wheeler five feet in the woods while hunting.  He definitely has broken ribs in the front and the back.  We decided to try and wait it out since there did not seem to be any bleeding and he was able to breathe fairly well.  After eight days he is still not able to sleep in a bed.  Tonight the pain has increased especially in the front section.  When have we waited too long and need to see a doctor?  Is there anything besides pain meds that can be done or will the ribs basically have to heal themselves.  Are multiple breaks treated any differently than a single break or crack?

On April 20th I  broke 8 ribs...there's nothing they do for it except pain killers.  They don't wrap anymore because higher chances of pnemonia.  Dr told me, no matter how they heal is ok because they're still protecting your internal organs.

Your husband needs  to do deep breathing exercizes to prevent pnemonia.

I also had blood in the lungs and fluid on the outside of the lungs as well as a lacerated spleen and a broken wrist.  You probably should get him to the Dr's in case there's more internal injuries.

3 months later and I'm still not sleeping in my bed.
Good luck
