I have had numbness in left hand, bad pain on right side of neck. I have been on pain meds and physical therapy with no relief. The bad part is I had this mri 2 months ago. He had never got the results and I figured no news is good news. My bad for not asking about it. I only found out the results after getting med records for lawyer. This is an injury from a car wreck in march. Thank you for the info. I see my doc Monday to go over the mri.
What is means is that you a herniated spinal disc at C6-7, that has extended past its normal area and as a result is narrowing the lateral recess (this is an area that the spinal nerves travel) and is also narrowing the neural foramen on the right side. ( the neural foramen are small canals that the spinal nerves used to come in from the spinal canal) This narrowing can cause the nerve roots to be pinched. Moderate is significant but not severe. This herniation is also narrowing the spinal canal slightly at this level and mildly flattening your cord.
A pinched C7 nerve root can cause pain in the neck, lower arm and medial border of the scapula. And can also cause hand and arm numbness and tingling into the middle finger.
What are your symptoms and when are you seeing the Doctor?
