I think It has been said when you are chronic 24/7 pain you become willing to try anything after awhile..for me I didnt exspect miricals I just didnt exspect to be worse..we are a small majority there are people who have done a lot better after, for them I must admit Im jealouse...
Its alot of denial I thnk also trying to do what you have always done the way you have always done it..changing and learning new ways is very hard admitting you need to is even harder

people choose fusion due to the constant pain. people with bad back pain will essentially try anything to be rid of the pain, thats why i tried fusion i was desperate. i have less pain so it did work for me, we are all different. it isa risk thats for sure. so what i have a scar i would trade that any day for less pain.

Fusion is terrible, my older brother had it done, and he is only marginally better. The success rate is very low. Look into some minimally invasive surgeries, that won't leave huge scar on your back.

I had my Fusion in Jan. L4 L5 and S1. I am still home Im a teacher and I am in NYC which is quite physical. I have applied for ssi and I am looking at teaching at the college level in the fall. Fusion doesnt always mean you are better. I am happy to say 50% of my pain is gone..... now what do I do. Everyone is different when it comes to Fusion just know what your getting yourself into. Any?   Dove

when are you supose to do the fusion? good luck..it was a very hard thing for me not to b e able to several paeple due well and continue jobs if you have a heavy lifting bent over all the time I couldnt imagine..work I would suggest ahead of time you think of things to occupy your time.. if your thinking of ssi start now it is a long road and be sure you have a doc to back you, pardon the pun..

I went back to work a month after fusion from L4 - S1. I don't have a physically demanding job but my fusion worked wonders it has been 3 mo and all is going well.

hi
I had a fusion done l4 l5..I would first tell you this is a major surgary and takes time to heal.it is important.after a few weeks you will go to pt..due you have nerve problems in your leg(s)..
as for sucsess I know of a few people who have it and work..but I think it would depend on the type of work you do
