Hi!

Well yes, disc replacements are considered alternatives to fusion with preservation of spinal mobility. However disc replacements may not be feasible/ possible in all cases; but where ever possible, should be considered over a fusion.
Hope this information is helpful.

Could this be an alternative to a fusion? Replacing the discs rather than just unblocking them/unclogging them.

Hi there!

Yes, one could undergo both lumbar and cervical disc replacements separately as long as both a feasible. You may like to discuss the possibility with your treating orthopedician.
Hope this is helpful.
