Hi dovey520 normal necks have a curve in them that is convex to the front, a straight neck lacks this curve it means your neck will not function normally and could result in all sorts of symptoms such as head aches or tightness in your neck it could also mean that the curveture of the rest of your spine is abnormal

Hi...I can relate to how u feel.DO u have a copy of ur MRI report?.....And were u ever in an accident?...sometimes whip lash...especially untreated can cause this...soldiers also get it from standing at attention.

PT will help release the muscles that have pulled ur neck into the wrong position.

Do u have insurance? If u r not sure about ur dx and treatment go for a 2nd opinion.U will need ur copies of ur MRI and the report.

I had this condition and it was resolved...unfortunatly I also have other issues not related , but similar in nature.

PT could very well help....everyone is different.U need to decide what u will pay to feel better.Going to the ER is one more expensive for the visit and they will refer u to a dr...another cost and then propably send u to PT.

Ur dr should be able to give u neck and shoulder exercises that u can try first or along with PT...so it will not take so many visits to resolve.

Good luck
Godspeed

I am a 26 year old female. I have been having severe neck pain, numbness and tingling in hands, arms and legs, IBS, bowel discomfort, loss of vision in right eye, black spots in my left eye, sudden sharp pains to my head, trouble concentrating, irritability, and numbness in the right side of my face. My arm went extremely numb one night in bed and I thought I was having a heart attack. Most of my symptoms are only on one side of the body. This has been going on for years and worsened. I've had x-rays and a MRI of the cervical area. The only thing demonstrated on the MRI was cervical straightening or (cervical lordosis) on the MRI. The x-rays were normal. This is intolerable. I can't sleep, concentrate or much less get anything done. I've have not tried PT yet. Do you think this would improve if I did try PT? (50.00 per treatment). Is there are less expensive route? Should I seek emergency care? Is this involved with my heart? Does this diagnosis sound correct? What is happening?!!
