neck,shoulder,clavicle pain

In April I started to get a little sore in my clavicle area, nothing that I couldn't handle.  As softball season progressed it progressively got worse. around september, the pain in my clavicle area (right side) got really bad and the pain was hard to handle. i went to see a doctor and he thought that i May  have broken my clavicle. however, the x-rays came up negative. ever since seeing the doctor the pain has stretched to my neck/back of my head. so my pain radiates from behind my ear, to the back of my head down my neck and has started on my left side now too. sometimes i feel some tensions in my shoulder blades. the pain is not too bad in the morning. I more or less just feel strain and no pain. As the day proceeds, my pain gets worse and its the worst at night time. I hate going to bed because my pain is at high level. its hard to lay down and move in bed. any suggestions?

Ooops i just saw April.. i guess its been more than a couple weeks. Sorry. Definatly follow up with doctor on possible neck herniation possible c3/c4... just guessing.  Follow up with spine specialist, orthopedic doctor, or recommended specialist by your pcp. Definitely do not drop it.

I would ask for an MRI it sounds like a cervical disc issue. You can do a search for a dermontone map )not sure on spelling)  But you can see where the nerves travel and match up with your pain area. I would use ice through out the day on your neck if it is a disc ice will hold down the swelling (i make gel packs 1/3 rubbing alchohol and 2/3 water). Other than that a neck pillow for sleping, rest the arm/area of pain if able. If it continues more than a couple weeks or gets unbearable i would request to see an orth doctor and again the MRI...  Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon.
