sharp stabbing pain

For the past few days, I have been having random excrutiating stabbing pains in the backside of my left ribcage. I have never had pains like this before, when they occurr, I can't move or breathe. I also have been having a lot of trouble sleeping the past few nights I don't know if that may be connected in any way. Please help!

Get checked for Bronchitis and Pneumonia. That sounds EXACTLY the symptoms I had when I contracted Pneumonia and I waited a long while before getting checked and it got very bad. Do not wait to seek medical treatment.

I suggest you see a dr asap, severe pain is usually a sign that something is wrong. Given it's location, it sounds like a kidney problem such as kidney stones is possible.. and those can get nasty if left untreated.
