sore back

My 15 yo son slipped and landed flat on his back, a week later he is still complaining of lower sourness when he bends or stretches, do you think it might be bruising and give it time, or should I get it looked at .

I would not recommend a chiropractor. They are too quick to order adjustments and usually onloy have access to x-ray machines.  These simple falls can have catastrophic effects. The chief female resident at a hospital I worked at had a similar fall...and after a month of discomfort was evaluated and had a fractured cervical vertebrae...she had been walking around with for a month. An x-ray is meaningless. He needs to be evaluated by a physician who can order an MRI, if indicated.

Hello tigermites,

I just finished reading your comments. Falls are tricky. I fell myself last
year in my mother's apartment and I was in a lot of pain well past a
week. A couple of suggestions. I would suggest making an appointment
with your family doctor so your doctor can examine your son's back.
If you have a chiropractor, I would recommend bringing your son to a
chiropractor to be examined and have an adjustment. When I fell in
December, I also injured my ankle which still hurts and its now May.
My chiropractor is still giving me adjustments for this. My point is that
falls are tricky because the results of the fall are often not apparent
immediately. Hope this helps. I wish you son well. Eve :)
