Question on Possible surgery?

Hello,
I was injured in a football game a week ago and I am meeting a neurosurgeon and orthopedic surgeon this week. I am wondering if anyone would know or have any knowledge on the chances of surgery. The report says the largest of the defects are sclerolic.  Also, I have a developmental process or remote nonunited fracture. I have no compression fractures and the disc spaces are maintained. The fracture fragments are slightly separated from the parent bone.

The three bones that broke off aren't too close to the spin (avoiding nerves), so I am wondering if they will perform surgery to remove them or just bear the pain now in hopes that they will stay put and go away.

Again, it's been a week and I am slowly feeling less pain, but when I take steps or get up too fast, I feel like a sharp pain that almost feels like a burn on the lower left side of my back (I imagine it is my bones floating around). If anyone has any idea what to expect, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that! I broke of my transverse processes Lumbars, L2, L3, and L4. I am feeling "tightness" in my muscles, as I assume the bones are getting engulfed by my muscles. When I lift my left leg (as in walking/going up stairs) I feel a sharp pain feeling like something is pulling jabbing my muscle. I hope this helps! Sorry I forgot to post that extra information!

I need to know what you are talking about...cervical, lumbar?  Be specific and re-post with a detailed explanation of your symtoms and what bones are injured.
