Back Pain

I am 19 years old and recently I started going to the Chiropractor after months of back pain.  I found out that my back is more messed up than what I had thought!  The bottom of my back curves in too much, the top of my back is too flat and my neck is too far forward.  The Chiropractor told me that I am Stage 2 in spinal degeneration (I am pretty sure that is what it is). Once you get to Stage 4 he told me that the majority of people can't be helped.  Two of the vertebrae in the lumbar region are crooked and almost crush into one another with too big of a space in between them.  I am wondering how someone at my age can have the back of an 80 year old woman!!!? I have never had a serious injury or trauma, have never taken a serious fall or anything.  Ever since I have been going to the Chiropractor (about 3 weeks now) the pain has become much worse and it is ALWAYS hurting.  I use to never get headaches and now I am getting them at least 2-3 times a week.  It is getting to the point where I can't even sleep at night as I can't find a comfortable position.
- IS the Chiropractor going to help over time?
- OR should I look into other treatments?
- Are the headaches a result of going to the Chiropractor?

....Unfortunatly xrays do not show tissues......so some conditions r invisable.
I would put my name on the list and hope that u can continue with the chiro afterward!!

Good luck

Yes I had x-rays done on my first appt with the Chiropractor.
Specialists take FOREVER to get into around here where I am from.  I gues I should put my name on the list in that case!

Hi, did u have xrays or MRI to get the dx of the spinal degeneration?

I would stay away from the chiro until u see a spine specialist. Depending on what is wrong, he/she could cause more issues.

I used to go to a chiro also...but now that I have my dx I can see how much damage could have been done if I had continued to go.

U can have something involving ur spine that is congenital, if u didn't have an injury. If the disks r that out od whack it may be putting pressure on ur spinal cord- that is where all ur nerves r....so it could be the cause of ur headaches.

See a spine specialist asap

Godspeed
