Headaches with neck and back pain

I have diagnosed with narrowing of the c5 and c6. Was having really bad neck and right shoulder blade pain. With numbness and tingling down my right arm into my hand. Then all of a sudden I started getting really bad headaches. I'm on day 10 of a massive headache. Which seems to be stemming from my upper back and neck area. Pain is horrendous. Nothing i take helps at all. I've tried Tylenol, Motrin, muscle relaxers, and pain meds. Nothing even touches it. Any idea what this is? And how to get rid of this headache?

A cerebral spinal fluid leak is a possible complication of a lumbar puncture. It can cause an excruciating headache. Many physicians will do a blood patch to stop the leak. Caffeine can really help with the pain, as can laying down.

Hi!
Along with pain killers, you can also look for alternative therapies. One such method is wearing specially designed corsets to hold your spine in place while you move around. Restricting the spine movement at the desired points also reduces the pain. Manual traction and physiotherapy too is often helpful in managing the pain by strengthening the back muscles. Also sometimes a heating pad or a hot water bottle helps ease the tired muscles.
Use a hard bed to sleep. Avoid a pillow. Roll a towel and place it under your neck while sleeping on the back and between head and shoulder when lying on the side. Initially this will be uncomfortable but with time the acupressure will work. Use an analgesic cream or spray. Anti-inflammatory drugs help. Also, you must improve your posture while sitting and working.
Please discuss these options with your treating doctor. Take care!
