Arm pain

Hi there,

I am 39, female.  During 2011 I had a Neck Fusion C5, 6, 7.  This was the result of 2 accidents in 1994.

Lately, I have right arm pain again that goes down into my hand and my neck is very stiff and painful.  I go to the Physio on a regular basis and it feels better for a day or two and then it goes all stiff and painful again.

Should I be concerned about it?  Can it be my C4 level that acts up?

Happy Trails, Smiley,

Airplanes are 20th century torture devices, I carry my own pillow with me for low back support and it helps a great deal.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the info.  I am currently strapped up at the back in the hope that it will improve as we're flying out to South Africa for a month holiday next week!  14 hours flight and painful and stiff neck is not going to be fun.

I'll get a Cervical/spine xray done when I get back.  My Physio recon that C7-T1 may have arthritis in it.

I'll keep you informed :) and keep on smiling.

Arm pain is usually C6, C7, or C8.

After 20 years, I would imagine that there's calcification, and the C7-T1 disc has degenerated from taking the load of the upper vertebrae.

PT might help, but see a neck specialst first and obtain a new MRI.

Best wishes and keep smiling.
