.I have issues with L5/S1 (herniated disc) and with my Sacral Illiac Joints. It sounds like you have some of the symptoms I have,  standing for longs periods of time is awful. I am not a doctor, but it sounds like you may have SI joint problems. Go to a different doctor and perhaps they will do a MRI to make sure it isn't something more severe.  In the mean time, I think Yoga is a great idea, gentle stretching seems to help.  Also take ibuprofen to decrease inflammation. Ice/heat therapy may also help. Heat relaxes the muscles, ice decreases inflammation. Good luck and I hope you find answers soon, take care!
