Thank you for your advise. I had a injection yesterday between C8 &T1. It went ok. Had a problem as soon as I was getting up, saw starburst everywhere. They had a very hard time getting any blood pressure, even thou I was talking to them the whole time. It took 45 minutes to get my blood pressure up to 103 over 73. I noticed last night around 5:30 I got a head ache (injection was at 2:30). Still have it, waiting on the nurse to call me back. I am very worried about what happened yesterday as lately my blood pressure has been high (163 over 112). Don't know which was to go. Went to physical therapy and did the exercises for 3 days after therapy, was hard to move each morning. On the 4th morning called the therapist as it took me 30 minutes to get out of bed and couldn't move my neck to the right side even thou the exercises where for legs, lower back, pelvic tilts, back shoulder squees and back shoulder rotation. They had me stop until I got movement back. Had movement yesterday after injection (and no pain in my shoulder) but today no movement of neck to right side. I don't know what to do.
Hi!
This is a difficult situation to assess on net. You can take rest for a day or two and take pain killers to numb the pain. Meanwhile, you need a doctor to assess whether there has been more damage due to the fall. Along with pain killers, you can also look for alternative therapies. One such method is wearing specially designed corsets to hold your spine in place while you move around. Restricting the spine movement at the desired points also reduces the pain. Manual traction and physiotherapy too is often helpful in managing the pain by strengthening the back muscles. Also sometimes a heating pad or a hot water bottle helps ease the tired muscles. Please discuss these options with your treating doctor. Trying out these possibilities may reduce your need for narcotic pain medications. Also, their dose can be reduced by adding some non-narcotic pain killer to the prescription. Please also discuss this. Take care!
