Pinched nerve maybe? Lhermittes sign?

I have been dealing with Lhermittes sign for over 2 months now. One day it started with burning and tingling in my feet and legs. Then i noticed the sides of my abdomen were numb then it went to the ring and pinky finger on left hand being numb and tingly. This all started about a week after i quit alcohol. I did some research and started taking b12 tablets and about a month later most of these issues went away. Not sure how long after that the lhermittes started but its been going strong ever since. Its worse when i first wake up and when i walk.

I have a desk job so im on a computer for 7 hours a day. My posture is poor i know and i also know that being a long time alcoholic depletes the body of b12 and i heard that could be the cause of lhermittes but  my doc believes its a pinched nerve and im not convinced. She gave me some exercises to do but i havent been consistent with them. Can lhermittes be caused by a pinched nerve and will it heal on its own? For those that may not be familiar lhermittes is when you bend your neck down towards your chest and get like an electric feeling down your spine but mine feels more like a phone vibrating and its in my lower back into my legs and my left hand only. I am going to push for an MRI as im worried about MS

First, I have to commend you for stopping drinking. That is fantastic. Not easy to do once alcohol becomes a part of one's life in a big way so am super happy to hear you made this change. We have a forum that supports that too. An I'm always here to talk as an extra ear or friendly person. :>))

Anyway, let me copy and paste this for you:  Why does Lhermitte's sign happen?
Image result for lhermitte's how does this develop
There are two main causes of Lhermitte's sign. The first is demyelination, or damage to the myelin around the nerves. The second is hyperexcitability, which is the increased firing of nerve fibers in the brain. Miscommunication between damaged nerve fibers can also cause Lhermitte's sign.

It CAN be caused by a pinched nerve.

Would you be able to see a physical therapist? I did for a pinched nerve myself. The stretching they did released the issue and I was able to get over it that way.  ??  It's an option.

Thank you so much. Its been 67 days today that i've been sober. Also i see my doctor in 9 days so i am going to discuss it more with her. I think i would feel better if i could get an MRI done but of course they want to rule out all other minor things first. I've searched so much on this symptom and can only find people who have Ms that has it. Maybe a few who have b12 deficiency. I also thought that a pinched nerve would cause pain. I just want to be able to not worry so much and get past this. Waiting on tests is also super hard and worrying. i am treating my anxiety but meds havent fully kicked in yet so i still feel very anxious. Ugh man this sucks just not knowing
