It might just be inflammation from arthritis as it's gotten progressively worse over the past ten years. You might get some relief from a chiropractor, if not an MRI would help to diagnose. Best wishes!

probably degenerative disc disease. you would need an mri to confirm it. did you ever try physical therapy?
