Any other nurses out there discriminated against due to their Dx?

I find this troubling. A person can not help it if they happen to have a chronic mental health issue. As long as you are treating it and it is well managed, you should not have to be put in a position of justifying doing your job. What has happened that prompted this question? Are you discriminated against?

By the way, a friend of mine is a teacher. She had started a new medication for her mental health issues and unfortunately, had a psychotic break at school. She walked herself to the office knowing she needed to be away from her classroom. She'd called her husband to meet her who came immediately. They talked the principal and she left and her husband drove her to the emergency room. She took the next day off of work and they were getting her meds corrected. She was notified she was out of a job immediately. I have students at this school she worked at. I get that her episode at school was not ideal. And kids safety comes first. But also feel bad for my friend who works hard to keep her mental health issues under control. Such an unfortunate situation.
