My mom has mood swings and she acts like the child sometimes, what should I do?

My mom and I have always had a really good relationship. I'm a teenager, but I rarely do the "typical" things that a teenager does. For example, I never talk back, I'm close with my family, I help out around the house, I don't really go out much, etc. But, lately, I've been noticing that my mom is acting strange.

She had a stroke in the past year, and she recovered 99%. Yet, she keeps on up-playing her symptoms whenever she's in bad mood, which is often. She'll have these random mood swings where she gets mad for no apparent reason, or completely overreacts. Another thing: She acts like a kid. She'll throw tantrums and she'll complain about helping around the house, saying that she's not our "maid" when no one is treating her like so. Originally, I had suspected cyclothymia, but she rarely has highs. She's really dramatic and irrational now, blaming a lot of things on my father and myself.

I need help. Thank you.

Being a mom is really hard sometimes. It sounds like she is just tired and in need of a break. Maybe ask her how you can help with something or just give her a hug. Small acts go a really long way with us moms. We love our kids so much, but sometimes feel like that love isn't noticed or appreciated. A hug and a little help here and there would go a long way. I know it's hard being a teen too, but she might be more responsive to you "your way", if you just told her that she is appreciated.Good luck
