Depression after a euphoric moment

After being particularly happy or euphoric e.g. after a party, I will end up in a depressive state; is there any medical reason, or is this simply a psychological trait in humans?

That could easily be rapid cyling. Moods can change extremely fast. I found Lamictal to be particularly helpful on that but each person reacts differently to each medication. Speak to your psychiatrist about it.
