Did I overreact?

I know its been a while since I posted anything on here, and I'm sorry if I made you worry. Things have been okay lately could be better. On Thursday night, when I was sitting down in this chair at the table waiting for supper to get done, the man who raised me began to grab at me randomly from behind the chair. I slapped his hand away because it was making me uncomfortable, then he grabbed this area that was right near my boob, so I grabbed a pen and I got yelled at for grabbing a pen. Yeah, grabbing a pen. His wife did nothing--no surprise--and then he made this comment about my hair looking orange (long story short, tried to dye my hair white, it did not work too well, lol, i had to dye over it with my natural hair color) then I told him, 'Whatever. At least I'm not fifty.' and I got yelled at by them for being 'disrespectful'. When I told somebody this, they said I overreacted. I don't think I did, my best friend doesn't think I did, and neither does my friend Aaron. Do you guys think I overreacted?

Why would you care what other people think about you?

I see, and that is sexual harassment. If he was your boss you could report him for such behavior. As your foster parent, I would report him to your school or something. I know you worry about things like that, but that is not playing. When does it change from just grabbing at you to something much, much worse? Don't let it get to that. I'm glad you defended yourself.

He must of meant playful in a perverted way or is lying, I don't find that playful at all.

He said he meant it in a 'playful' manner, but the places where he was grabbing me didnt scream 'playful'. He was grabbing me at areas around my boobs. I don't think a 56 year old man grabbing at seventeen year old girl's boobs (or area around them) is a playful thing.

You say he was grabbing you. Like a playful way or a mean way? Also I know these people are not very nice to you. They antagonize you. You didn't say "I grabbed a pen and stabbed him in the hand." I'm guessing you grabbed the pen because it was right there and you jolted.

I'm thinking that you did not over react. I think they overreact about everything. They always push your buttons so you react this way. I hope you're close to finding a way out.

No you didn't over react. That kind of harassing behavior should not be tolerated and you took some measures to stop it in a reasonable manner.
