Help needed, please

Just found this forum and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good psychiatrist in Birmingham, Al for a friend who was dx as bipolar and is self-medicating with alcohol?  She has recently moved here from another state and is really having a tough time.  She actually lives in Gadsden, AL, but can't find a doc there who will accept her insurance (United Health Care.)  Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks so much for the help.  We had found Grayson and Associates online and will give them a call this afternoon.  It just helps to have someone recommend a good doc.  She thought about UAB but didn't know anyone who had used the docs there.

Hi... I live in Birmingham and I have had good experiences with Grayson & Associates.  They have a couple of locations in Birmingham... you can probably look them up on the internet.  Not sure if they take UHC (I have Blue Cross), but your friend (or you) could call them and find out.  Good luck to you and I hope your friend feels better soon. :)
