something to read

http://www.breakthroughdigest.com/medical-news/is-it-really-bipolar-disorder/

this suggests that BPD can get mania too. but i happened to have asked this question in the BPD forum and i received contradicting views, mostly NO.

unless the questionnaire precludes it as a differential dx.

i am in favor that at least i have it along with my BP, because i think am weird in many aspects: fears, self-centered, want to harm myself, etc...etc.... although everybody at times believe so too

good luck to all of us. we need it for decades to come

Yes, BPD and BP share so many characteristics, another interesting link which clarifies between the two and discusses treatment implications is:

http://www.psycheducation.org/depression/borderline.htm

It is especially difficult to distinguish between the two when a person experiences rapid mood changes because it could be either rapid cycling BP or BPD.

It was hard to read due to the length and stiff language, but I agree it may or may not be true. After all, I was diagnosed BPD but I am not so sure about that anymore. When I read about BPD I don't seem to fit all the cirteria. It is just too confusing.

That was an interesting read; it's just more testament to how all the really small details make all the difference in what you get diagnosed with.
