im on four : cymbalta, deplan, wellbutrin, and synthoid to help depression. may be bipolar type two. only officially diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorder and panic attacks
Two for Bipolar:
Gabapentin (AKA Neurontin)
Klonopin (which Doc says is short term)
I'm only on one medication, that is abilify.
Huh, it showed up on my screen. Must be a bug.
Quetiapine is the generic of Seroquel.
Sorry I didn't think my last post had came up so I did it again.it doesn't seem like many people are on quitiapine
I take quitiapine, venlafaxine and diazapam as needed
I'm pretty sure he was talking about bipolar, for which "BP" is an abbreviation. Depakote and lithium are both commonly used for bipolar, and given which forum this is on, I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about blood pressure.
As for the original poll, even though it's old:
Lamotrigine (currently 150 mg, will be moving up soon)
Buproprion 150 mg (will be stopping soon due to it possibly inducing rapid cycling and getting random resting heart rates of 120)
Ambien for sleep until I can get my schedule straightened out
Cyclobenzaprine 2.5 mg (half the smallest dose available) doubles for sleep and back pain.
1000 mg vitamin D3 2x/day since I was deficient and deficiency could play a role in depression. Don't know whether this counts for "psych"
B-Complex, I think to offset any med-induced deficiencies from occurring (again, not sure if this counts as psych med).
So anywhere from 1-6 depending on how strict your definition is and whether you count something about to be discontinued.
Just two, quitiapine and venlafaxine and diazapam when needed
Hello,
I was reading the comments and as far as Lithium being used for BP.You may want to speak w your physcician.Lithium is a straight up PSYCH med .NOT used for BP!! It influences the reuptake of neurotransmitters it has NO properties to change anything w your blood pressure.BP meds are either vasodilators or vasoconstricters.Maybe check again with your Dr to get a clearer understanding of mechanism of action.
Klonopin
Lamictal

Reading this thread sounds like a cocktail party. This is more of a question than a judgement...how can any doctor or patient keep track of what side effects are being caused by what, what new side effects are being intorduced by adding another drug to counteract the problems of the first, what's helping what, and what are the short and long term effects of having a slew of substances in the body?
Personally I take the approach that where I can, I find out what's causing the problem and remove that before considering adding something as a remedy.
If I had answered this poll last week I would have said Lamictal. Now this week I'll include Wellbutrin in that.
I only take Abilify 15mg. Used to take Geodon 160mg. I was on risperdal briefly in between these two but I forget what dose I was on.
