Is this true psychosis

Hello again,

So I am going through what I believe is a severe episode following childbirth. I am currently taking 200mg of lamictal and klonopin as needed.

So my brain is like wigging out! I do not feel like myself at all!! I feel like I am in some sort of altered state of reality. By that I mean feeling like imaginary people are around me or chasing me.. And I feel like I am out of my body.. Not in control of my thoughts at all!!

So my question is.. Is this true psychosis since I absolutely know this is not real.. Although it seems real.. I know this is all in my mind!

My therapist and doctor give me different answers. One says OCD one says postpartum psychosis. All I want is for this to go away.. I promise I was normal before this

Post partum psychosis and other related conditions usually improve
over time but you could discuss the specifics with your psychiatrist.

Thank you for your response.. The reason I think this may not be is because it did not respond to antipsychotics.

Is this something that goes away with the episode? I am scared to death as a Mom of 4

Some of what you are describing sounds like psychosis.
You could ask the psychiatrist you are seeing including
the one who had concerns about postpartum psychosis
that you are experiencing symptoms that are not responding
to treatment and what their suggested follow up is.
